1. BREAKFAST IN BED AND TO-DO LISTS
Having breakfast in bed is an absolute offence at homes but given the current circumstance, this day should definitely be pardoned. So pamper them and serve them chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice in bed!
Once they’re done with their breakfast you can make a to-do list with them or create a fancy one for them in advance. Tell them about all the fun activities you’ve planned for the entire day to keep them excited and going throughout!
2. FUN ACTIVITIES IN THE YARD
Instead of going for the usual boring yoga exercises, plan out some fun activities in the backyard and get the blood pumping and keeps them energised throughout the day!
3. SURPRISE ZOOM CALL WITH FRIENDS AND COUSINS
Get everyone on zoom or facetime call and get them to cut the cake while they’re on the call!
Another great idea is to ask all their friends and family to make a short video of them wishing your kid and compile them together to make a cute fun video for them!
4. MAKE THE DÉCOR A BIG DEAL THIS TIME AND GO ALL OUT
Order streamers and balloons, make some colourful banners and decorate the door, the windows, the living room and their room while they’re sleeping.
5. BIRTHDAY PARADES
If it’s a neighbour’s birthday and you can’t meet them, plan a parade during this lockdown. Make colourful banners wishing them and take them in the car ride. Call them up while you’re crossing their place and wish them from far! Since a lot of people cannot be sitting together, everyone can take their own car and wish them!
6. BAKE THEIR FAVOURITE CAKE
If you don’t have a lot of ingredients, that’s fine! With so many 3 ingredient recipes on the internet, absolutely anyone can bake a cake! Decorate a simple chocolate cake with some melted chocolate or Nutella and add some M&M’s or colourful confetti! We’re sure they’ll love this too!
7. KEEP THE GIFTS AND THE CARDS OUTSIDE THE ROOM OR THE DOOR
All those who want to gift something to the kids can keep them at the doorstep with a card wishing them a happy birthday! Before handing on the gift to the birthday boy or girl, the gifts can be sanitised to ensure maximum safety!
8. A VIDEO CALL FROM THEIR FAVOURITE CARTOON CHARACTER
Borrow a dress from someone if you don’t have one and get any of the relatives to dress up like Elsa or one from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and get on a video call with them! It will definitely make them special.

Since they cannot have their own birthday party, gift them something they have been asking for a really long time! It will definitely lift their mood and make them much happier!
10. TREASURE HUNT
This one’s a great lockdown party game! Hide lots of gifts or things that your kids love in different places. Make it as difficult as you can. Give them witty riddles, once they crack the riddle, they can go and get their gift. Or draw a map of the house and mark all the places you’ve hidden the gifts at. You can always improvise and play the way you want.
11. IF YOU HAVE A YARD, CAMP OUTSIDE!
If the weather in the area is nice, then you can set up a tent in the backyard! Start a fire and roast some marshmallows to make some s’mores! Burn a few candles around the yard and if you have a laptop, play their favourite movie or tell them some spooky ghost stories! We’re sure they’ll love them!
